Eslam El Rihany

Islam El Rihany was born in Assiout in 1986. He completed his BA at Minya University's Faculty of Fine Art, where he now works and teaches. He describes his brush strokes as 'thick, impulsive but yet non-negotiable.' El Rihany has benefited from his academic work and his exposure to the great artworks of his elder peers in Minya University. His artwork has been featured in many exhibitions around Egypt and collected by many. 'Once I create a mark on the canvas I never return to it; this is the essence of my paintings,' he wrote. 'It is how I felt at the moment I placed the mark and I can never change that.
